Ashington Together
Calling Together Leaders of Ashington Clubs, Groups and Organisations Ashington is a great village to live in. Few villages are as well appointed and have so many facilities. And there are so many people working for the good of the village. Many of us villagers believe that we should be proud of this and that it is something to shout about. A number of people from different groups have got together with the idea of celebrating what goes on and getting to know more about what we all do. If you lead a non-profit / voluntary group in Ashington which works for the benefit of the residents then you are invited to this free reception in the evening of Friday 27 April 2018. Not only will we get together, there will be: food drinks a great opportunity to chat, compare notes and to learn how we can help each other. We have shared this idea with Horsham District Council who are so keen on the idea that they are also sending someone to help and join in. And we will also have a speaker from Billingshurst to share how they have been working together to achieve great things. So if[...]

Open Garden 2018 @ The South Wing | Faygate | England | United Kingdom
Just to let you know that Horsham Artists Open Studios are beginning to get the wheels turning for a busy 2018 of art events. For the last few years, one of our members Kezia and her husband Duncan, have opened up their magnificent garden at Holmbush House. Thankfully they have agreed to do it again this year, real gluttons for punishment. We will be raising funds by selling a huge range of beautiful, donated garden plants that have been grown by some of our members, by selling spots in our infamous Pick-a sticker competition that gives an opportunity to win one of several original items of art that have been donated by our members, there may be a little art on show too, all to enable us to run our Contemporary Art Fair in October. If you might be interested, please follow the instructions on the attached link and apply for a ticket, We look forward to seeing some of you there.

Ashington Festival 2018 @ Ashington Recreation Ground | Ashington | England | United Kingdom
It’s back! The best village Festival in Southern England returns on Saturday 18th August 2018 to The Recreation Ground, Foster Lane, Ashington. The fun starts as always with The Festival Parade and finishes with a huge firework display and a disco. See you there!   Ashington Festival first appeared in 1997. It was decided that instead of having the Fun Day and the Flower Show on two different days it would be better to have one large day. All the businesses around the village was asked if they would sponsor some money for the day, I remember we got nearly £3.000 in sponsorship money which was excellent at that time. The clubs and groups of the village was asked if they would have some kind of stall to raise money for themselves and the Festival. It was a great success and now in our 21st year it has got so big we are running out of space on the Recreation Ground. We now have a large Carnival, Arena/Stage Acts running throught the afternoon and evening, lots of craft and charity stalls, sideshows and Harris Funfair which is our own village fair. We have a Flower Show, fun Dog Show and[...]
